Join our dynamic team as an Assistant Actuarial Manager within the Reinsurance (RI) Hub. You will lead and optimize reinsurance data operations, ensuring data integrity, supporting strategic decision-making, and mentoring a team of junior professionals. Key Responsibilities
- Data Operations & Quality Assurance
- Validate premium and claims bordereaux data from client insurers for accuracy and compliance.
- Implement robust data validation processes across various reinsurance treaties.
- Maintain booking cashflows in collaboration with valuation and finance teams.
- Financial Reconciliation & Settlement
- Reconcile bordereaux data with reinsurance treaties to confirm Statements of Account.
- Manage the settlement approval process, meeting internal and regulatory targets.
- Reporting & Data Product Development
- Consolidate data validation and settlement records for management and stakeholder reporting.
- Prepare premium and claims bordereaux and Statements of Account for reinsurers.
- Develop high-quality data products to support actuarial valuations and experience studies.
- Process Improvement
- Standardize data validation and data product preparation processes to enhance efficiency and consistency.
- Lead projects aimed at optimizing data operations and implementing best practices.
- Stakeholder Management
- Communicate proactively with insurers, brokers, reinsurers, and internal teams to address data and settlement matters.
- Negotiate with external parties to balance their interests with internal targets.
- Collaborate with pricing and valuation teams to deliver actionable data products for strategic decisions.
- Team Leadership
- Mentor and guide junior staffs, fostering their professional development and enhancing team performance.
- Lead project initiatives, ensuring timely and successful implementation of process improvements.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years in data analytics, statistics, or actuarial roles within the insurance or reinsurance industry.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience, demonstrating effective team leadership.
- Solid understanding of reinsurance principles and regulatory requirements is highly preferred.
- Progress towards or completion of SOA actuarial credentials is advantageous.
- Technical Skills
- Proficient in MS Excel, Python, and SQL.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to data quality.
