People & Business Leadership

  • Lead the Actuarial Pricing teams by contributing to the development of the GI strategy through developing the department strategy
  • Ensure the appropriate structure, governance and people capability of the department to execute the strategy
  • Contribute to the effective management of the CGIO P&L to drive top line and bottom line growth and to deliver the expected BU performance metrics, with particular focus on CX Score, Loss Ratio and Underlying Results

 

Pricing

  • Accountable for determining the portfolio and individual technical price for P&C
  • Provide clear explanation of results, pricing and design recommendations (including assumptions, methodology guidelines and specifications) to internal and external stakeholders
  • Drive the effective execution of the pricing strategy

 

Data Analysis

  • Oversee Portfolio Analysis by channel, product and business line to identify underperforming P&C Retail and Commercial products and the development of mitigation plans to return to profitability
  • Drive forward-looking data analysis to inform and optimize pricing, portfolio analysis, GLM, product marketing and customer retention
  • Lead and maintain an effective and efficient portfolio analytic and monitoring
  • Explore and leverage the use of technology for pricing model, tools and skillset, e.g. machine learning

 

Projects & Governance

  • Contribute as a Project Sponsor, Project SteerCo Member and/or Project SME to CGIO Pricing BAU projects and AXA HK transformational projects as required
  • Ensure the Pricing function meets legal, compliance and risk management requirements, formulating and executing action plans and escalating issues as required
  • Fulfil responsibilities on relevant committees to achieve business goals

 Requirements: 

 

  • Qualifications in Actuarial science, statistics or mathematics or similar, with ACII or FCII accreditation preferred.
  • At least 8 years’ leadership experience in insurance, with strong knowledge of the industry’s challenges and competitive landscape.
  • Robust business acumen and understanding of the economics of an insurance business, and in particular the levers that maximize value.
  • Thorough understanding of the Hong Kong market, key players, competing products and customer segments.
  • Innovative and customer centric mindset to deliver CGIO products that support the realization of CGIO strategic objectives and deliver a superior end-to-end client experience.
  • Strong experience and in-depth knowledge in the development of pricing models, with actuarial experience highly advantageous.
  • Strong data analysis capability to drive forward-looking predictions to improve profitability, and the ability to communicate these meaningfully and with insight.
  • Open to explore the use of technology for pricing model, tools and skillset, e.g. machine learning
  • Flexibility and agility to respond to changing market trends, customer behaviors and needs, legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced stakeholder management skills, with the ability to develop mutually beneficial and productive external and internal relationships
  • Well developed written and spoken English language skills
